LV Trail exists because the businesses that make local communities worth living in deserve to be found.

"We didn't set out to build websites. We set out to build the system that makes a local business findable — on every platform that matters in 2026. The website is one piece of it."
— Gerard Fehling, Founder, LV Trail LLC

Hi. I'm Gerard Fehling.

My family moved to Morris County in 2013 — my wife Maria and I had just gotten married, we were starting out, and Mendham felt like the right place to put down roots. Over a decade later, we're still here. Our two sons go to school here. We run the trails, eat at the same restaurants our neighbors do, and get things fixed by the same people the whole town trusts.

A few years ago I started noticing something that bothered me. The businesses that make this corner of New Jersey worth living in — the plumber who shows up on a Sunday morning, the chimney sweep your neighbor has used for fifteen years, the CPA who actually picks up the phone — often didn't exist online. Not in any real way. They had a Google Maps pin, maybe four stars and a handful of reviews, and nothing else. If you didn't already know them, you couldn't find them.

Why I could actually do something about it

I spent twenty years as a technology executive helping some of the largest companies in the world — global pharmaceutical brands, Fortune 500 consulting clients, consumer-facing businesses with millions of customers — build the digital systems and programs that drive how they find and serve their customers. I've led the technology side of marketing transformations, CRM rollouts, digital channel strategy, and search-driven customer acquisition at a scale most businesses never see.

What I kept noticing is that the same mechanics that help a global pharma brand get found online apply directly — and powerfully — to a local chimney sweep in Chester who has 83 five-star reviews and no web presence. The principles don't change with scale. The execution does. LV Trail is what happens when you apply that same discipline to a different kind of problem.

Why LV Trail exists

I built this because I can. And because the community I love deserves better than what it's currently getting from the internet. The businesses doing excellent work — the ones your neighbors recommend — should be the ones showing up when someone new searches. Right now, they often aren't.

About the name

LV Trail is named for the Columbia Trail in Long Valley, NJ — a converted rail-trail that runs through the hills of Morris County and is my favorite place to think. The name layers on top of itself in ways that felt right: LV roots the business geographically without limiting it. It signals movement, the outdoors, and the local landscape. And the metaphor is embedded in the work: a trail is how you get from where you are to where you want to go. LV Trail's job is to make sure new customers can find their way to your door.

Agency-quality work.
Without the agency overhead.

Built for 2026 Search
Every site includes the full modern search stack — Google, Google Maps, Bing, ChatGPT, Claude, Siri, Perplexity. Not as an add-on. As the baseline.
Local From the Inside
Mendham resident since 2013. We shop here, eat here, and use the same businesses we help market. This isn't a remote vendor relationship — it's a neighbor helping neighbors get found.
One Person. Full Accountability.
Every client relationship is managed directly by Gerard — no account managers, no hand-offs, no call centers. When something needs attention, there's one person responsible and one way to reach them.
System Built Before Day One
The complete LV Trail playbook — outreach, build, reporting, client management — was designed and tested before we signed our first client. We don't figure it out as we go.
